The crew from the popular Chinese TV show “Sing!China” came to AIM Sydney recently and held their Overseas Director meetings for the contest, putting over 50 hopeful contestants through their paces over two days. “Sing!China” day 2 saw a select group of 22 work with Jason de Wilde (Head of Audio - AIM), who engineered the recording session at AIMs studios. David McLeod warmed up the singers. David is a Bi Linqual vocal coach at AIM and responsible for bringing “Sing! China” to the campus with the help of good friend Ming Tong.
Ming and David met at AIM whilst doing post graduate study 5 years ago and have collaborated on several projects since.
One of David’s students at AIM is YU, Huimeng Janet. Janet is form Beijing and iscurrently studying her bachelor degree majoring in voice with the contemporary department. Janet made it through to the recording session. We wish her good luck in the contest.
The whole operation was an exciting couple of days for AIM and ran very smoothly thanks to the organizational help Emily Shirley, Hannah Brouggy and Sophie Haylen along with AIM studio assistants Jessica Ford and Mingzhang Ai.
