Little Worlds

I have always been fascinated by small worlds

Dioramas allow me to build moments that sit somewhere between reality and imagination. Tiny scenes that suggest a story without fully explaining it. Each piece begins with a simple idea or feeling and gradually evolves through the process of making.

Working at this scale changes the way we look. Viewers naturally lean closer, slow down, and notice details that might otherwise be overlooked. In that quiet moment of attention, the work invites curiosity, humour, and sometimes a slightly unexpected edge.

Every diorama is made entirely from hand and no two are the same. I enjoy the unpredictability that comes with that process. Imperfections and surprises often become part of the character of the piece.

Although small in scale, I think of these works as miniature sculptures, little environments that can live alongside everyday life on a desk, table setting or windowsill. My hope is that they offer a moment of pause and imagination in the middle of an otherwise busy world.
